In 2020, Tim Hayes was featured in the Emerging and Enterprising Entrepreneurs (E3) Jackson magazine edition during the height of the pandemic. Two years later, he has opened up a brick-and-mortar location to serve up 'sweet treats.'
Tim Hayes, founder of How Sweet It Is by Tim, thought he would become a trauma surgeon. But that path shifted when he decided that baking was his purpose and passion. “This is my gift from God,” said Hayes.
With no prior baking experience, Hayes relocated to Orlando, FL to get a culinary degree. He graduated from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. After completing his culinary education, he worked as an intern for a local bakery in Jackson, Tennessee, and began his career as a pastry chef. According to Hayes, he has been highlighted in several magazines and on The Food Network and The Cooking Channel.
After working from home, Hayes has opened up a brick-n-mortar location in Jackson, Tennessee.
In addition to a physical location, products can be purchased online via this website. Some of the cupcake selections are banana pudding cupcakes, almond raspberry cupcakes, and fresh strawberry cupcakes.
There is an assortment of pies such as sweet potato, key lime and southern pecan. Covid impacted many business owners. Some were not able to recover. Hayes stated in an interview in 2020 that he had an increase in sales and this gave him an opportunity to scale his business.
