SBA to host the West Tennessee Recovery Symposium for small businesses

The U.S. Small Business Administration will host the virtual West Tennessee Recovery Symposium on Nov. 18. The event is free and will discuss the resources of the Small Business Administration.


C. Shawn Mckeehan, deputy district director for the Tennessee District Office in Nashville, said that Eric Terrell, senior area manager for the Memphis Alternate Worksite, planned and coordinated the event.


“It is our hope to connect and introduce small businesses to all SBA programs and services available to aid in all phases of the life of a small business from start-up, expansion, and recovery,” Mckeehan said. “These businesses will get an overview of our counseling, contracting, and financial assistance programs. Additionally, they will learn about our Covid-19 recovery assistance and disaster recovery assistance.”

  • Capital: Getting Funded for New Projects or New Businesses

  • Counseling: How to Start a Business-Data on Different Businesses, Location, Size, and Timing

  • Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) for COVID-19 and Physical Disasters: Providing Economic Relief to Small Businesses and Non-Profit Organizations Currently Experiencing a Temporary Loss of Revenue

  • Federal Contracting: Under the Socio-economic Standard and How to Market to the Federal Government.

  • Resource Partners: Tennessee Small Business Development Centers (TSBDC), SCORE, UT Procurement, and Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC)
