In recognition of #NationalBlackBusinessMonth, Writing by Design Media, Inc. is hosting a magazine release on Aug. 18 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Muggin Coffee House located at 1139 Brownlee Road in Memphis, Tenn.

National Black Business month was created in 2004 to celebrate black-owned businesses. John William Templeton, historian and Frederick E. Jordan Sr. engineer, wanted to increase awareness about black-owned business.

Memphis Small Business Quarterly (MSBQ) was created in 2017 to highlight underrepresented entrepreneurs in Memphis, Tenn. The concept originated from a class project in an Entrepreneurial Media class at the University of Memphis.

Since 2017, the magazine has featured emerging and enterprising entrepreneurs in healthcare, law, real estate, project management and small business resources in Memphis. The final edition highlights past entrepreneurial stories, an entrepreneur interview essay and a small business resource.
