by Writing by Design Media Inc. staff

The Memphis Small Business Quarterly (MSBQ) final edition included past entrepreneur stories and small business resources.

Jennifer Sharp, former freelance writer, wrote a follow-up article about Eric Brinson and how his business has evolved since the inaugural edition in 2017.

Brinson began a career in real estate after a previous business venture.

"I guess you can say that real estate has found me and I have been successful in it ever since," said Brinson.

Jurnee Taylor, former freelance journalist, wrote an article about Phillip Ashley Rix on his new location in 2019.

"I don't look like your typical chocolatier, so therefore we're not going to make your typical chocolate. I learned the foundation and then I put my spin on things, my vision and voice...that's when the rule breaking came in," said Rix.

Johari Hamilton, former content writer and intern, wrote an article about the University of Tennessee Procurement Technical Assistance Center (UTPTAC).

"In 2021, PTAC counselors had 1,115 clients that received awards totaling more than $1.3 million, which led to more than 26,967 jobs created or retained," stated Veronica Clark, counselor for West Tennessee.

Dr. David L. Acey, Sr and Yvonne B. Acey were featured for their continued support of Memphis Small Business Quarterly and their commitment to increasing awareness about African heritage.

Adrianna Hardy, University of Memphis student, wrote an essay about Paula Anderson on her journey as an entrepreneur for one of her classes at the UofM.
