According to a news release, The Carter Malone Group is set to receive a 2022 National Minority Enterprise Development Week Award.
The award comes from the National Minority Enterprise Development Agency, a federal agency under the U.S. Department of Commerce. Its mission is "solely dedicated to the growth and global competitiveness of minority business enterprises," according to the website.
Deidre Malone, founder and CEO established the CMG in 2003. The award
recognizes CMG as the Minority Marketing and Communications Firm of the Year. According to the website, the CMG offers services on branding, production, public relations, community engagement, and public affairs.
“The MED Week Award is an incredible honor for The Carter Malone Group. In 2023, CMG will celebrate a milestone anniversary with the firm hitting the 20-year mark. We have won many awards over the years but this award means a great deal to me and my firm for a number of reasons. First, we were nominated by one of the hardest working agencies that supports minority businesses, The Mid-South Minority Business Council Continuum through the Tennessee MBDA Business Center it operates. From the president to my advisor, they are always available to guide and assist me. Second, I have an amazing staff who always goes the extra mile for our clients and me, and it shows in the quality of our work. Finally, this award reinforces the fact that minority businesses are successful and thriving. I am humbled by this honor and grateful to have such a strong voice in the Mid-South, the MMBC Continuum and Tennessee MBDA Business Center advocating for minority businesses,” said Malone.
Malone is a client of the Tennessee MBDA Business Center, operated by The Mid-South Minority Business Continuum, an economic accelerator, for women and minority-owned businesses in stage II according to the website.
“We are proud to have one of our MBDA Business Center clients acknowledged amongst the elite firms being recognized nationally for the quality work that they provide on a local, regional and national scale,” said Jozelle Booker,
operator of the Tennessee MBDA Business Center and president and CEO of The MMBC Continuum.
National MED Week takes place Sept. 19 - Sept. 24. The award ceremony will be held virtually on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 at 5:00 pm EST/6:00 pm EST. All of the 2022 National MED Week award winners from across the country will be recognized.
