In 2017, Richelieu Dennis, chief executive officer of Essence Ventures, established the $100 million New Voices Fund. According to the website, The New Voices Foundation was created to support women of color in business through capital investments and other resources to help alleviate some of the barriers. This year, they will launch the first Essence + New Voices Entrepreneur Summit.
The Summit will act as a “cultural and economic hub” that will include a pitch competition, awarding winners up to $100,000. Recipients will also receive
on-site mentorship, coaching, master classes and more from leading entrepreneurs and financial investors.
