Our Story
Writing by Design Media, Inc. was founded in 2020 by Paula Anderson and Eric Ryan Brinson. The magazine concept originated in 2017 while Anderson was completing her master’s degree at the University of Memphis. Over the years, it has grown into a respected public benefit corporation dedicated to education on entrepreneurship and economic development. Based in Tennessee, our organization has served as a launching pad for increasing awareness and brand recognition for dozens of emerging entrepreneurs helping them gain the visibility and support needed to succeed.
The digital and print publications highlight underrepresented entrepreneurs and small business owners across Tennessee. By sharing their stories, we aim to provide a platform for these individuals to gain recognition and access to resources. Additionally, we host a variety of events and conduct in-depth interviews, creating opportunities for networking, learning, and collaboration within the entrepreneurial community.
Our mission is to empower and inspire individuals through our comprehensive media offerings and engaging events. We strive to make a significant impact on economic development in our region with stories that inspire, inform and motivate.
